Dom and Joan were the Round Dance Program Vice Chairman for the 49th
National Square Dance Convention which was held in Baltimore in
2000. They are current presidents and past education directors of
the Round Dance Teachers Association of Greater Washington, DC RDTA).
They are active members of the Washington Area Square Dance
Cooperative Association (WASCA), the Universal Round Dance Council (URDC)and
the Dixie Round Dance Council (DRDC). Dom was the Treasurer for the
27th URDC National Round Dance Convention and is the current
Treasurer for the 29th URDC Convention. Dom & Joan have been active
members of Roundalab for 18 years and have served on the Roundalab
Board of Directors. They served as chairman of the Phase V Figure
Standardization committee and Golden Classic Dance Cues Committee.
Dom & Joan are a licensed teaching unit with ASCAP and BMI.
Dom & Joan attend clinics and workshops at every weekend
opportunity they can and have completed the East Coast Round Dance
Leaders College. Dom & Joan have taught and cued at numerous
National Square Dance Conventions, conducted Round Dance Teaching
clinics at Roundalab, for their local teachers association and on
numerous Round and Square Dance weekends, Dinner Dances and other
special Round Dance events in the Greater Washington DC area, New
England and surrounding states. They operate their own phase III-IV
V round dance weekend which they founded in Southern Maryland in
1999.
Their list of Round Dance Choreography includes: Love Is Strange
III, Love Is Strange IV, Rockin’ Good Way, Kokomo In Time, Foxtrot,
Nowhere Foxtrot, Candida, Tres Palabres, Eyes For You, That’ll Be
The Day, Sherry, Masquerade and Cherry Hill Park.
Dom is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief and Joan from her own
maternity and children’s ware retail business. They have two sons
and their pride and joy, granddaughter Lauren and grandson Domenic
which they spend as much time as they can given their busy Round
Dance Schedule.
